#2 Update | No more naked Muri!

°∘ Hello again fellow murii!

We’re back to bring you a fresh update, with the most important change ever - the Muri has clothes!

Apart from no longer running around in the nude, you can now save your progress (this happens automatically) and also do a time challenge. This challenge is unlocked once you’ve solved all 3 big cleaning clusters and watched the final cutscene on the island reached by lilypads.

Please let us know if you run into any bugs, if you have any feedback, or if you make videos or plan to stream Project Shoreline - tag us so we can have a look!

 Can you beat super-mega-expert dev Valli’s time trial? ⏰ Time to beat: 00h 08m 20s 06ms ~31% Clean Completion

Major changes:

  • Camera changes We tried quite a few changes to the camera in this update, mainly for those playing using a controller,  so we’re particularly interested in knowing what you think about the camera. The most noteworthy changes are:
    • Improved camera leashing: the camera swings to the left or right based on movement input.
    • Dynamic camera: the camera uses fancy mathematical trickery to attempt to detect whether the player is about to be occluded(hidden) from camera view and tries to swing in the right direction to avoid that. This only works when using a controller and the option can be turned off in the settings menu.
    • Camera input smoothing: We tried to alleviate the jaggedness of the camera movement by adding a bit of input smoothing.
  • Muri’s new clothes: we now have the same muri in-game as in the thumbnail!
  • Time trial: You can now unlock Time Trial once you have completed Project Shoreline! record Saving: You can now save in Project Shoreline! Any time you either exit to the menu or exit the game via the pause menu the game saves your progress for you.
    • Known bug: We are aware of a bug with resetting the progress. If you want to reset your progress, press new game, restart the game, and you will be able to start a new adventure in Shoreline.
  • Completion percentage: Adding the ability to save also gave us the opportunity to show everyone how much of the world they have cleaned. You can see your completion percentage in the game’s main menu.

Minor changes:

  • Loading screen animation: We added a cute lil’ loading screen with a running pixie to let you know the game is loading.
  • Updated pixie animations: The pixies’ animations should look even cuter now! If that’s even possible?!
  • Sliding: Poked at the animations and added the ability to jump out of sliding when moving slowly.
  • Jump head canceling: Hitting your head on the roof of an object now cancels a jump.
  • Cutscene movement: Fixed a bug where the player could remain stuck in the air during cutscenes if jumping into the cutscene
